Though there
exist many institutions including Government organizations
engaged in the sector of education to promote education and
make the new generation literate. But with every institution
in the sector of education there exist a number of problems
and the one is scarcity of teaching staff to cope up with
the growing population. The scarcity of teachers could be
noticed in primary level schools run by local Government in
rural areas. Since the very base on which progressive higher
education is dependent is primary education. Building of a
strong educational foundation at primary level is of
immeasurable importance to minimize toughness of the higher
education. The social development of any community needs
literacy rate at zenith. Therefore to supplement the
teachers vacancies in Government Primary Schools in rural
and remote areas and keep the study on we decided to take
help of international volunteers so that solid base of
education at primary level is constituted and the children
are prepared to accept challenge of higher education
fearlessly in future.
The activities youll be doing
Teaching Program is run in Government Primary Schools in
rural areas of different state of India. The volunteers will
teach in the schools and organize various enjoyable and
creative activities for the children to sharpen their
talents and increase the knowledge. The volunteers work
continuously to explore the hidden talent in the children
and to promote them. Local children also learn different
skills and methodologies in study programs from volunteers
that they otherwise would not learn. A mutual exchange of
skills and experiences enrich both the ends. The volunteers
might find that they learn as much as from them as they from
the volunteers. The volunteers will teach in a wide variety
of chosen subjects and activities, including English,
Mathematics, arts and sports. Since volunteer activities are
organized in Government Schools where acute shortage of
teachers exists, the volunteers are therefore expected to
focus mainly on the syllabus being taught in the Schools.
A day in the life of a volunteer
On working days, volunteers usually get up and have
breakfast before leaving for their Volunteer Placements. Our
staff will provide transportation to and from your Volunteer
Placement if required. You will probably spend about four
hours at your Volunteer Placement. Evenings will be filled
with opportunities to learn about the local culture and
customs, field trips to places of local interest,
discussions with experts on local issues and others. Evening
meal-times provide another exciting chance to enjoy
authentic food provided by host family/our staff cooks. The
food is delicious and healthy and takes full advantage of
local cooking traditions. The evenings and weekends are free
time, to relax or explore the local area. Volunteers often
travel to other parts of the country at weekends, and the
staff who are all from the local area are always happy to
make recommendations.
Popular with students and families during summer,
winter, and spring breaks. Adventurers and retirees
