The Volunteer for Street & Settler Community Children Project aims to empower underserved children—including street children and those living in temporary shelter settlements—by providing free basic education, essential resources, and life skills. Building on our 15-year legacy of helping street children transition into formal schooling, our focus is on nurturing personal growth through lessons in life skills, etiquette, basic literacy, and hygiene, while promoting physical well-being through sports and games. With the support of international volunteers, we strive to build a brighter, self-reliant future for these young minds right where their communities reside.
Motivate children from street and temporary settler backgrounds to value education and prepare for regular school enrollment by providing free foundational learning and essential resources such as study materials and play equipment. Raise awareness about health, sanitation, and nutrition to improve their overall quality of life.

Overall I found it very interesting. To be close with the children, to teach them, play with them, I really loved it I loved teaching the children. Especially the last week when I knowed the children very well. I will miss them.. The first days I really had to get used to it. Later I loved all the international contacts. The food was very good but sometimes bit spicy. Accommodation was also fine.

I had an amazing time with the kids in the street kid’s project and I would do it again immediately, I became truly attached to them and would love to take them with me but happily they have their families and don’t need to be adopted. It was a great time and an amazing time teaching the kids and gets to know them better everyday, I’m going to miss them very much on my last day it was breaking my heart to say goodbye to them. The food and accommodation was great. I haven’t recommended Sankalp to other but definitely would if someone is interested in volunteering.

The children are great and it is a pleasure to get to know them. It is great that Sankalp has taken the initiative to provide a school for them. Overall I have had a positive experience. Thanks for having me!!! The children are amazing and the new teacher is very nice. Accommodation was fine. Thanks for acting quickly on our feedback. I always felt safe in the house. Food was great. The Sankalp team is excellent. I would recommend this program to everyone who is interested in doing a volunteering.
