Volunteering India, based in Jaipur, leads community development projects in both rural and urban areas. Our volunteer programs offer a unique opportunity to immerse in the local culture, climate, and geography. Through our exclusive travel and volunteer programs, you can explore India’s stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage as a responsible tourist.
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is a vibrant city known as the "Pink City" for its stunning forts, palaces, and Havelis, blending tradition with modernity.
As a volunteer in Jaipur, you will have an opportunity to make a profound effect while immersing yourself in the local culture. You will work with vulnerable groups, particularly children and women, while exploring the vibrant traditions of this Land of Kings!
Your daily schedule includes about 4 to 5 hours of volunteer work, with transportation provided if needed. The rest of your time will be filled with cultural learning, field trips, and local discussions. Meals offer delicious, healthy local cuisine, and evenings and weekends are free to relax or explore, with staff recommendations for nearby travel.
Volunteers can participate in various programs at our Jaipur location:
Upon arrival in Jaipur, volunteers are warmly greeted and driven to volunteer house, a 45 minute ride. Here, they will meet the team and fellow volunteers, beginning their experience in a welcoming environment. The following day (Sunday), an orientation session will be held to introduce volunteers to the program, their new surroundings, and the community they will be working with. This session covers important topics such as safety, transportation, local culture and history, and provides an opportunity to get to know other volunteers and the local team. It’s also a chance to ask any questions and clarify any concerns.
Arrival Day: Friday/Saturday any time.
Departure Day: Saturday
Arrival Airport: Jaipur International Airport, India
We offer comfortable accommodation with easy access to the project sites for our volunteers. In Jaipur, volunteers stay in our dedicated volunteer house, which is a building owned by the organization. The house is fully residential, thoughtfully arranged with a blend of modern and traditional furnishings.
The house features shared rooms with beds and attached washrooms, all equipped with showers and western toilets. Volunteers also have access to separate recreation and dining halls.
There is a fully equipped kitchen available for volunteers to prepare their own dinner. Essential kitchen utensils and equipment, such as a refrigerator, hot-pot, and pop-up toasters, are provided.
During the summer, the rooms are cooled by air conditioners on fixed timings.
Free Internet access (Wi-Fi) is available for 24 x 7.
We also provide a daily 45-minute in-house yoga session before the start of volunteering activities to support the well-being of our volunteers.
During the volunteer program, most meals, including break-fast and lunch are provided. The cook prepares all meals directly in the volunteer house, offering a variety of delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. Each day, you will enjoy a different traditional dish, allowing you to feel the diverse flavors and rich culinary heritage of India. The meals are freshly prepared with care, ensuring both taste and quality for a satisfying dining feel.
A volunteer workday on this project typically involves around 4 hours of volunteer duties in the morning, with afternoons free to relax or explore. While we encourage all volunteers to remain flexible, a typical daily schedule looks like this:
07:00 – In-house Yoga Session
08:00 – Breakfast at the Volunteer House
09:00 – Volunteering duties begin
13:00 – Lunch at the Volunteer House
15:00 – Volunteering duties end
The afternoons, evenings, and weekends offer plenty of opportunities to explore the local area or even visit Delhi for a city experience. Meals are provided at the Volunteer House, with meals taken elsewhere being at the volunteer’s own expense.
