Arrival & Orientation
Upon arrival at Delhi International airport (IGI) participants of the program will be greeted by a member of the team at airport, drive to Jaipur and transfer to their accommodation. Pickup services are available anytime on the program start date.
Following day, a halfday orientation session will be conducted. This session will cover essential topics, common greetings, Indian history, culture, and traditions, volunteer project assignments & discusstion, volunteer work activities, explain some rules & regulations, basic Hindi lesson, and visit local market. It is designed to ensure you are well prepared and informed for your stay.
Gap Year Expedition
(First Week)
Day 01 (Sat) - Arrival in India
Opon arrival, our representative will meet you at Delhi Airport and transfer you to accoommodation in Jaipur.
Day 02 (Sun) – Orientation
Gain an overview of the volunteer and travel program, learn about local culture, and get acquainted with the project details.
Day 03 - 07 (Mon - Fri) – Volunteer Work Begin
(Second Week)
Day 08 - 09 (Sat - Sun) – Agra: City of Taj Mahal
Embark on a weekend trip to Agra and enjoy an overnight stay at a hotel. Following day, visit the iconic Taj Mahal in morning, breakfast and returning to Jaipur.
Day 10 - 14 (Mon - Fri) – Volunteer Work Activities
(Third Week)
Day 15 - 16 (Sat - Sun) – Ranthambhore: On Tiger Trail
Visit Ranthambhore National Park for a Tiger Safari and enjoy an overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 17 - 21 (Mon - Fri) – Volunteer Work
(Fourth Week)
Day 22 - 23 (Sat - Sun) – Jodhpur: The Sun City
Travel to Jodhpur, transfer to hotel and local sightseeing. Following day visit to the Mehrangarh Fort and heading to Jaisalmer.
Day 23 - 24 (Sun - Mon) – Jaisalmer: The Golden City
Explore Jaisalmer’s forts, lakes, and markets before heading to the desert.
Day 24 - 25 (Mon - Tue) – Camel Safari in the Desert
Take a camel ride, enjoy cultural performances, and stay in traditional mud huts.
Day 25 - 26 (Tue - Wed) – Pushkar: The Feast of Colors
Visit Pushkar to explore its sacred sites, including the Brahma Temple and Pushkar Lake.
Day 26 (Wednesday)
Return to Jaipur in the evening.
Day 27-28 (Thu-Fri) – Volunteer Work
(Fifth Week)
Day 29-30 (Sat-Sun) – Free Days
Day 31 - 35 (Mon - Frid) – Volunteer Work
(Sixth Week)
Day 36 (Sat) – Free Day
Day 37 (Sun) – To Dharamshala
Take an overnight train to Dharamshala, home of the Dalai Lama.
Day 38-40 (Mon-Wed) – Himalayan Trekking
Embark on a three-day trek through the stunning Himalayas, visiting villages and exploring breathtaking landscapes.
Day 41 (Thu) – Amritsar: Visit the Golden Temple
Travel to Amritsar and interact the serenity of the Golden Temple.
Day 42 (Fri) – Train to New Delhi
Check out from the hotel and board the train to New Delhi, arriving in the afternoon around 3:00 PM. Here your incredible adventure comes to a close at Delhi Railway station and free for your individual plans. We hope you take home lasting memories and remarkable trip.
Board and lodging
We offer affordable board, lodging, living, and transport arrangements during your Gap Year Expedition Program in India, catering to individuals, students, families, and groups. Our exclusive services are outlined below for your convenience.
Volunteer Accommodation
You will stay in a comfortable and cozy facility in Jaipur, conveniently located near the local market and city center. The accommodation features air conditioned rooms with attached washrooms, hot water, and western style toilets, available on a shared-room basis. Bedding is provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own towels and toiletries. The facility also includes a common area and an outdoor space, offering a welcoming environment for socializing and relaxation.
Hotel Stays
During the weekend tour and travel week, volunteers will stay in clean and hygienic hotels. The hotels are air conditioned, ensuring a comfortable program. Breakfast will be included in your stay.
Desert Camel Safari Base Camp
During the Safari, accommodations are provided in tents or under the open sky beneath a canopy of stars. This promises to be a truly unforgettable adventure and a once in a lifetime event.
Meals
During the volunteering days, you will enjoy a variety of freshly prepared Indian vegetarian meals right at your accommodation. Renowned for its bold flavors and diverse dishes, Indian cuisine will be an integral part of your stay, providing a delicious and authentic introduction to the country’s rich culinary traditions.
Volunteer Safety
At Volunteering India, volunteer safety is our top priority. With years of experience, we ensure a safe environment at our house, during transportation, at program locations and during the travel and hotel stays. We are fully prepared for any emergencies and maintain strict safety protocols. With over 3000 volunteers aged 16-65, we have had no incidents.
Daily Transport to Project
Daily transportation is provided between your accommodation and the volunteer project site, ensuring a hassle free commute to and from your work each day.
Free Time Activities
After volunteering, you are encouraged to explore the vibrant and diverse city of Jaipur. Spend your free time visiting local markets, discovering heritage monuments, and dining at some of the city restaurants to sample the rich variety of Indian dishes. With so much to see and do, Jaipur offers endless opportunities to imerse yourself in the bustling life of the capital.

Arrival: Pickup will be arranged from Delhi International Airport(IGI). You can arrive at any time on given start dates, our driver will greet you upon arrival.
Departure: The program concludes with a drop-off at Delhi Railway Station at approximately 3:00 PM on given program end dates. Please plan your onward travel arrangements accordingly.

Booking / Application Fee (USD $250) - This secures your spot, initiates online preparation, and must be paid after application approval. It is non-refundable but valid for a lifetime.
Program Fee (USD $2175) - This must be paid at least two weeks before arrival in India and covers lodging, transportation, tours, and other amenities as given bellow:

Volunteers are responsible for obtaining their own visa, with recommendations for applying for a Tourist Visa.
