Your Key Contributions

Volunteer Requirement

  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old at the time of joining teaching volunteer program.
  • A positive, adaptable attitude is crucial to thriving in this diverse and new environment.
  • Volunteers should bring energy and enthusiasm to create a worthwhile difference.
  • Good physical health is required for participation.
  • A clean criminal record and a criminal background check report are necessary.
  • If under 18, a parental consent form is required for teaching volunteer.

It was an enjoyable and worthwhile program that allowed me to mix with a local population, help them improving their English skills, and see the local area whilst living in comfortable, relaxed environment. I participated in the teaching govt. School program and found it to be a very valuable volunteer project. It was challenging with the language barrier between me and the children but it was not impossible. My overall time has been great. I have made some good friends and seen some amazing places. I feel that I have gained a lot personally from this program and hope that others have gained from having me here. I feel it is an experience I would like to repeat again soon!! I felt totally safe in the community and have really enjoyed getting to know the area. I really enjoyed the interaction with the staff. I found all to be very helpful and friendly and not at all intrusive. I would definitely like to recommend it.

Well organized, Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Clear rules and good support. I would recommend this program to my friends. This program was very rewarding. But when I came here I didn’t like teaching school, Indian food and I had no idea what kind of adventure I was about to embark on. Right now all that has changed and I look back at 6 weeks of life changing moments and experience overall totally worth it! The children were great, easy to work with and willing to learn. Food was great; I really think Purnima is a great cook. I really enjoyed teaching and I got what I came for. Motivated to do good in life, I will return to the Netherlands and make the best of it. May be one day I’ll come back, I feel that I will.
