Arrival & Orientation
Upon arrival at Jaipur International airport volunteers will be greeted by a member of the team in Jaipur and transfer to accommodation. Pickup services are available anytime on the program start date.
*On request, pickup from Delhi Airport is available for a fee.
On the day following your arrival, our staff will conduct a thorough half-day orientation session. During this session, we will cover key topics such as local culture, common greetings, important locations, transportation options, and other essential details outlined in your trip itinerary. This will ensure you are well prepared and informed for the duration of your stay.
Summer Program 2025
Day 01 (Sat): Arrival in Jaipur
Upon your arrival at Jaipur Airport, our representative or driver will greet you and transfer you to your accommodation at the volunteer house in Jaipur.
Day 02 (Sun): Orientation in Jaipur
After breakfast, join an orientation session where you will receive an introduction to the program, Indian history, culture, and traditions. You will also learn basic Hindi and explore the local work area and markets. The rest of the day is free for you to settle in and explore nearby shops and super markets.
Day 03-07 (Mon-Fri): Volunteering
From Monday to Friday, engage in volunteer work at your project site.
Day 08 (Sat): Free Day
Spend the day relaxing, exploring Jaipur, or preparing for the week ahead.
Day 09 (Sun): Day Trip To Pushkar
(Breakfast and Dinner)
Visit Pushkar, a vibrant town known for its Brahma Temple, Savitri Temple, and sacred lakes. Explore Nag Pahar, visit colorful local temples, and enjoy a camel ride in the desert.
Day 10-14 (Mon-Fri): Volunteering
Continue your volunteer work from Monday to Friday, contributing to your project and making a positive change.
Day 15 (Sat): To Agra – City of the Taj Mahal
(Breakfast)
After breakfast, begin your travel week with a scenic drive to Agra (Approx. 5 hours by car). Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out to explore the magnificent Agra Fort. Later, immerse yourself in the bustling local markets, where you can see the vibrant culture of the city.
Day 16 (Sun): Visit to the Taj Mahal
(Breakfast, Dinner)
This is the day you have been waiting for, a visit to the stunning Taj Mahal. We will depart early, around 5:00 AM, to witness the mesmerizing sunrise over this world famous monument. It would be truly an unforgettable time.
To Amritsar – City of the Golden Temple
After the Taj Mahal, take breakfast and we begin our journey towards New Delhi (approx. 4 hours by car). After a brief rest in New Delhi, we will board a train to Amritsar (approx. 7 hours travel). Upon arrival in Amritsar, transfer to the hotel where you can rest and recharge for the exciting days ahead.
Day 17: Visit to the Golden Temple
(Breakfast, Dinner)
After breakfast, we will visit the iconic Golden Temple, one of the most sacred sites for Sikhs. The serene atmosphere and stunning architecture will leave you in awe. Afterward, we will head towards Dharamshala for the next phase of the journey.
To Dharamshala – Himalayan Trekking – Day 1
After lunch, we will drive to Dharamshala, a peaceful town known as the home of the Dalai Lama. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the trekking base camp, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner and have an overnight stay.
Day 18: Himalayan Trekking – Day 2
(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Start the day with breakfast before trekking towards Triund, the mid-point of the trail. Enjoy lunch amidst the scenic surroundings and continue trekking toward the Snow Line (Laka Glacier). Return to Triund for dinner, a cozy campfire, and an overnight stay in mountains.
Day 19: Himalayan Trekking – Day 3
(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
After breakfast, trek back down to the base camp. Later, visit Bhagsu village to see the beautiful waterfall. The day ends with a relaxing dinner at the base camp.
Day 20: McLeod Ganj Sightseeing
(Breakfast)
After breakfast, explore McLeod Ganj and Dharamshala, visiting temples and vibrant local markets. In the evening, board an overnight Volvo AC bus to Delhi or free for individual plans in Dharamshala
Day 21: End of the Trip
After an unforgettable journey, we will drop you off at the Delhi Bus Stand (ISBT) around 10:00 AM, where your incredible adventure comes to a close. We hope you take home lasting memories and remarkable trip.
Board and lodging
We offer affordable board, lodging, living, and transport arrangements during your volunteer p in India, catering to individuals, students, families, and groups. Our exclusive services are outlined below for your convenience.
Volunteer Accommodation
Volunteers will stay in a comfortable and cozy facility located in Jaipur, conveniently close to the local market and city center. The accommodation offers air-conditioned rooms with sharing room options. Bedding is provided. However, volunteers should bring their own towels and toiletries. The accommodation includes a common area and an outdoor space, providing opportunities for socializing and relaxation.
Hotel Stays
During the travel week, volunteers will stay in clean and hygienic hotels as outlined in the itinerary. The hotels are air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable stay. Breakfast is included in your stay.
Trekking Base Camp:
While trekking, accommodations are basic but functional, with rooms featuring attached washrooms, bucket showers, and access to hot water. These facilities are designed to offer a simple yet comfortable environment for your outdoor adventures.
Meals
Throughout your volunteer work, you will be treated to a variety of Indian vegetarian meals prepared at the hostel. Renowned worldwide for its bold flavors and diverse dishes, Indian cuisine will be an essential part of your stay, offering a delicious introduction to the country’s culinary traditions.
Daily Transport to Project
Daily transportation is provided between your accommodation and the volunteer project site, ensuring a hassle-free commute to and from your work each day.
Free Time Activities
When not volunteering, you are encouraged to explore the vibrant and diverse city of Jaipur. Spend your free time visiting local markets, discovering heritage monuments, and dining at some of the city renowned restaurants to sample the rich variety of Indian dishes. With so much to see and do, Jaipur offers endless opportunities to immerse yourself in the bustling life of the capital.

Arrival/Check-in: Pickup will be arranged from Jaipur International Airport. You can arrive at any time, and our driver will greet you upon arrival.
Departure/Check-out:On the final day of the program, check out from the basecamp in Dharamshala. Please plan your return flight accordingly, or take advantage of the free time to explore and pursue your personal travel plans.

Application Fe (USD $250) - This secures your spot, initiates online preparation, and must be paid after application approval. It is non-refundable but valid for a lifetime.
Program Fee (USD $1250) - This must be paid at least two weeks before arrival in India and covers lodging, transportation, tours, and other amenities as given bellow:

Volunteer Safety
At Volunteering India, volunteer safety is our top priority. With years of experience, we ensure a safe environment at our house, during transportation, and at program locations. We are fully prepared for any emergencies and maintain strict safety protocols. With over 3000 volunteers aged 16-65, we’ve had no incidents, and our maximum capacity is 30 volunteers at our Jaipur house.
1. People from which countries can join this summer program?
We welcome volunteers from all over the world. Most of our participants are from the USA, UK, Europe, and Australia.
2. Can I volunteer as part of a group?
Yes, we welcome families, friends, and groups from schools, universities, and companies.
3. Does Volunteering India help with visa?
We provide visa information in the pre-departure manual. Contact your coordinator for more details.
4. What are the recommended airlines to fly to Delhi/Jaipur?
Delhi/Jaipur is connected to major airlines like British Airways, Emirates, Air India, and more.
5. How safe is India and Jaipur in particular?
India is safe when guidelines are followed. Coordinators will provide safety tips and guidelines during orientation.
6. What immunizations/vaccinations will I need?
Consult a travel doctor for recommended vaccinations before traveling.
7. Do I need to buy health insurance?
Yes, travel medical insurance is mandatory. Volunteering India offers an insurance option, or you can provide your own.
8. Are there more expenses once I arrive in Jaipur?
Your program fee covers the basics, but you will need extra for personal expenses like transport, shopping, and sightseeing (approx. $50-60 per week).
9. How many hours will I volunteer each day?
Volunteers typically work Monday to Friday. Weekend time is free for travel and rest.
10. What if I don't speak the local language? Would that interfere with my volunteering?
English is commonly spoken by coordinators, and language barriers aren't an issue. You can join an optional language week to learn basic Hindi.
11. Where can I change my money in Jaipur? Are there ATMs?
Currency exchange is available at the airport, and there are plenty of ATMs in Jaipur.
